We specialize in acquired brain injury (ABI) rehabilitation, particularly for individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive care including case management, social work, occupational therapy, rehabilitation therapy, and enhanced personal support services.

Referrals can come from insurance companies, lawyers, family physicians, hospitals, or other health care providers. You can also contact us directly at 519-572-3523 or email laura@therapyconnections.ca to discuss your situation and learn about how we can help.

Our services are typically covered through auto insurance benefits following a motor vehicle accident. Coverage details depend on your specific insurance policy and the recommendations of your treatment team. We work closely with insurance providers to ensure our clients receive the care they need.

A multidisciplinary approach means that multiple health care professionals from different specialties work together as a coordinated team to address all aspects of your recovery. At Therapy Connections, this includes case managers, social workers, occupational therapists, rehabilitation therapists, and enhanced personal support workers, all collaborating on your individualized care plan.

We are based in Kitchener, Ontario and serve the entire Waterloo Region including Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and surrounding communities. We also serve clients in Guelph, Brantford, and Hamilton. Our rehabilitation therapists and personal support workers can provide in-home and community-based services throughout our service area.

The duration of rehabilitation varies significantly depending on the severity of the brain injury, the individual's goals, and their response to treatment. Some clients may work with our team for several months, while others may require support for a year or more. We develop individualized care plans with realistic timelines and adjust them as you progress.

Absolutely. We encourage family involvement in the rehabilitation process. Our social workers provide family counselling and support services to help families adapt to the changes that come with a brain injury. We believe that supporting the whole family leads to better outcomes for everyone.

Our team-based approach sets us apart. Rather than receiving fragmented care from multiple uncoordinated providers, our clients benefit from a cohesive team that communicates regularly and shares a unified care plan. We pride ourselves on empathy, caring, and ensuring that every client is well supported as they work towards their goals.
